I’m Khushdeep Singh Bains from Harnampura village of Ludhiana. After working for two years with top pesticides company like UPL and Eastman, now I have started my own farm business. I’m mainly into vegetable farming and more specifically into garlic farming.

Earlier my father also used to do farming for home purpose only, we had our own real estate business. When I switched to farming, my father was against of my decision, because for him farming was a low profession job. But after working for Pesticide Company, I didn’t felt satisfied.

In the beginning, I started farming pumpkin, ridge gourd and okra in a small area. And slowly I expanded my farm. Now I grow every type of vegetables whether it is seasonal or non-seasonal.

I also signed contract with famous food company- Pagro Foods Ltd. and grew pea and sweetcorn for them. In 2016, I planted paddy, beans, potato, onion, garlic, peas, capsicum, cauliflower, mung beans, and basmati turn wise on the same land and reaped great profit from it.

From the last three years, I’m displaying my work in PAU Ludhiana Kisan Mela and I am getting overwhelming response from the farmers. After seeing my success, my family is supporting me and is happy with my work.
