I am Karamjit Singh Bhangu from Kansuha Kalan village of Nabha Tehsil in Patiala District. I started farming in 2011. In the beginning, I used to do organic farming of cereals, pulses, grains only for home consumption but slowly I expanded the organic farming area. And after observing the results I turned towards organic farming for commercial purpose also. Along with vegetable cultivation, I also started nursery preparation of chili, tomato, capsicum, and some other vegetable.

I dropped my studies just after 12th and got married soon after it, due to some family circumstances; I also had the opportunity to go abroad and start my life from a new beginning again, but I chose to stay back with my grandparents. With the time I gained experience and exposure towards farming. I understood the right farming practices and boycotted insecticides and pesticides completely. Today, I am happy with what I am doing. In 2017, I thought of trying my luck in floriculture, so, I intercropped Marigold with Gladiolus; the yield was good and I earned good profit from it. Recently, I have also planted 200 fruit trees of Kinnow, Pomegranate, Guava, Apple, Loquat, Lemon, Java Plum, Pear and Mango in my farm. I have my own on-farm-market through which I am earning well. Premdeep Kaur is my wife and she supports me the most in my work, she helps me in labour and harvesting process, and I manage the marketing part.
